The metal is then immersed in an acid bath or an electrolytic etching bath which eats
away some of the metal that is not covered by the image. The photo-etched plate is then
cleaned and may be treated with a patina and/or have portions cut out from the pattern.
Finally, the plate is riveted (with handmade rivets) or glued onto the book cover.
Invitations and announcements are made to
order by using the actual document. I also can design the wording and graphics
for you.
These are samples that have been made on commission. Contact me if you would like to place
an order.
